The ADNOX.System for diesel engines, includes a new type of SCR system for NOx reduction. The ADNOX.System uses diesel oil as reductant - the NOx reduction fulfills the IMO TIER III requirements, besides reducing the VOC and Particulate emission. The oil injected is heating up the exhaust. The Exhaust-heat is recovered using heat exchangers and the heat is used for production of electricity using an ORC system - around 9% extra power is produced, meaning reduction of fuel consumption - thereby reduction of CO2 .
The exhaust temperature is reduced from 550 C to 175 C - reducing essential the infrared footprint of the vessel.
An Approval in Principles for the NOx reduction system has been achieved from DNV-GL.
